. . . From French Lick.

Headed from Florida to French Lick, Indiana tomorrow. Just can't stand being confined any longer.

But I don't expect to see the Bird. The name is cool, and Indiana is one of the States we haven't checked off yet.

It would. Sadly they removed the poker tables a few years ago.
I guess you could wear it playing video poker to bluff the machines. :fcross:

What!??!

Sacrilege! There are some technological "advances" that aren't. :fingerwag:

Bring your mask if going to the casino. They mean it..
As much as I want to, we won't be going into the casino, or even the bar. This is a get-out-of-the-house flying trip, but we still plan to stay safe (as possible).

Hope you had fun taking your trip John. :)
Thank you. We did have a good, although somewhat unusual time. The resort is huge. I"m not sure how many acres it covers, but it is huge, and we didn't even go into the casino.

It was almost like having a private resort. There were no crowds. We took several hikes on their hiking trails and saw nobody else. On the shuttle and the trolley (which you need to get around the compound because it is so big) there were rarely other riders. The staff did a great job of cleaning and sterilizing everything after every use. My wife watched and in the restaurants they not only sprayed down the tabletops with disinfectant, but they also sprayed the chairs. AND (this is important) they left the sanitizer sit and work its magic without immediately wiping it off. They came back later to wipe the table down again. There was no maid service, which we like. Nobody comes into the rooms. Room service and cleaning staff leave things outside your door. In fact, they let the room sit idle for a day after sanitizing before the put new guests in.

Every day, first thing, they take your temperature and issue you a new wristband with the color of the day. No wristband, no service. Everyone in the restaurant or on the shuttles has the wrist band so you knw they had their temp checked.

Overall, part of the fun was just getting out and having a glimpse at what the future may hold one day. I just sure hope all those precautions become unnecessary soon, but it was nice having such a large place practically to ourselves.

The worst part was the flight home dodging various weather bands emanating from Hurricane Sally. But even that was exciting. I'm glad we had weather radar and a strike finder on board. And ATC was a big help routing around some of the rough areas.
