Has anyone experience problems getting terminal forecasts (TAF) with the ProLine-21 XM weather receiver? I saw this occasionally last year and more this year. On four flight legs in the last week, I got no TAF from the XM receiver. They all said "no data available".

I make a point of trying as list of airports: KLAX, KCLT, KJFK, KTUL, KVNY, KBUR, KSFO. I talked to a CJ3+ pilot two months ago who had the same problem.

When I called XM, they said "it must be the receiver" as CJ3 has the same receiver model and XM does not supply that. All other data from XM is there and working well so this does not seem a signal or receiver problem.

Well... Here is what seems the end of the story.
The was an old SL for the 525C from a few years ago.
I didn't pay attention to it as it described a problem we were not having.
That was a "timeout message while processing XM downloaded data".
It seems the XM data block has grown over the years and it hit a limit that caused some part of the system to "time out".
The fix was to disable the time with a DIP-switch change.
We did that and all is working now.
Thanks.
