The kids that helped pull the people out of the water said it smelled like diesel fuel in an ADN article.

Seems pretty well open and shut to me.
 
I’m sure there’s plenty of it sitting there waiting to be tested. No need to rely on anybody’s nose. It didn’t go anywhere.

All the details are not out.

While doubtful, there could have been a couple 5 gallon jugs of diesel on board to be delivered to a company vehicle at the destination that were spilled during the accident.

But yes, sounds too much like a mis-fuel problem.
