V-8 Velocity?

Yesterday (Friday) I was out at my rental property about 12 miles east of KTKI, and the sound of an airborne V-8 caught my attention. I looked up, and a Velocity XL was heading west at about 2,000', looking like he was inbound for the airport.

Does such an animal exist? Has anyone else seen it in the area?

That might be it. The aircraft definitely had open headers.

There's an XL out of Michigan that has a Corvette V8 and really nice exit NACA's on the cowling.

The only other I've heard about is an XL based out of TKI. Looks like it took off from TKI at 2:30pm on Friday and landed at 3pm. So I'm guessing that's the one you saw/heard.
