Anyone been there? It’s just under 90nm from my home drome. Looks like it would be a lot of fun to stay the weekend there sometime - or even hold a POA meetup there.

Looks like there’s a lot of different activities that you can do (fishing, tubing, jet skiing, golfing, hiking...you name it).

Flown past it a bunch. Great area for a retirement air park. Not sure what their rules are for non guests. Mountain Air NC is another good air park that I wouldn’t mind living at.

Per the link you posted, The runway is designed to accommodate most any private plane, but is exclusively used by community members and guests only. Pvt on the sectional.

I had a friend who is looking to live in a runway community. Was pretty steep but was a quaint place. Seemed pretty secluded.

Flown in there twice as I recall, once for an AirCam get together and once for a Cirrus event.

Nothing particularly difficult about it, weather and wind permitting.

i been wanting to fly there to play some golf... the course looks nice

I'd call and make sure it's ok since it's private. Then go eat at the Dillard house (bring all the food to the table and all you can eat) about 10 miles away.

That video of Steveo and his gal pals above, they aren't members. That's a video of them leaving. He has one going up there before that one and doing various things while up there.

I know they host various events such as Thanksgiving dinners, car races down the runway, etc. each year. I believe you may be able to attend by RSVP.

If you get on their mailing list, you'll get emailed invitations. My neighbor has a second home there. I've not been yet, but hoping to go later this year.

Are they the ones who have the cute angels at their booth every year at Oshkosh?
