Aerostar down in BC

Apologies if there is already a thread... sounds as though an Aerostar went down on Gabriola Island in BC. Weather was nasty last night. No survivors, not much information yet. Looks like the airplane was out of California.

Details are still very scarce. Don't know much about it other than some speculation based on flightradar and eye witness reports... I will update when I know more.

"An online flight tracker shows a six-person, twin-engined Piper Aerostar heading north from the U.S. disappeared off the tracker at around 6 p.m., just north of Gabriola Island."

I also heard elsewhere that this flight originated in central CA.

Weather reported in the neighborhood of 2 miles, -DZ BR OVC 004 likely didn’t help either.

Latest update. 3 dead. Airplane was out of Bishop Airport in California. On approach to Nanaimo when it went down. The pilot was experienced, and an instructor/examiner in Canada.
