Cost of Overhaul P&W Citation Excel

Thinking of buying a 2001 excel that was not on a program and it states TBO at 5000 hrs, the plane has 4500 hours. Trying to get advice on risk or cost of overhaul of these P&W engines. I hear all these stories about what it could cost, are there any average cost or typical costs out there?

Like the idea of going this way for low acquisition cost because we will only use 150 or so hours a year, but want to find out what i could get into.

Your question(s) are a bit out of the mainstream for this forum, but if I recall your only options on the Excel are either Dallas Airmotive or P&W. Contact them direct.

Is it being used for Part 91 operations? If so, overhaul may not be mandatory (though HSI is).

Might be cheaper to replace the engines with used mid time spares.

If you get serious with this issue send me a PM, I know a very good engine consultant that knows P&W engines. I have worked with him in the past and he saved us a lot of money. He will what to do and where the spare engines are.
