They keep trying with each new legislature to get our retarded State out of having the distinction of being the last one to allow aircraft on public waters.

They’ve got that private lake down south they’re doing fly ins to but the requirement to have the aircraft inspected for invasive species makes it a lot easier for amphibs than straight floats.

Stayed at the Lakefront Anchorage the last time I was in Anchorage, almost ten years ago. Fabulous place to watch the floatplanes on and off Lake Spenard.
But I imagine being there in January might, ahem, cool the lust.
