Anyone use GDL50 and FPG?

Now that I have my IFR, would be nice to have an instrument backup, and I’m about to do my first true cross country, so I really want weather. Anyone use the Garmin GDL 50 with Flight Plan Go? Thinking since Garmin owns FPG maybe there’s a better change of them being simpatico.

We’ve got a gdl50 in the 182. Haven’t specifically tried fpg, but the 50 plays nice with most stuff....including Foreflight. We replaced a gdl39 with the 50 for that very reason.

Where'd ya get it from? I contacted several online companies and was told they couldn't discount below $699 b/c that was the Garmin minimum. Was hopin' for a deal.

Paid that price and got overnight shipping from Amazon. Have a big trip coming up so not much time to shop around.
