It's clear that forum bans are based on a point system and subject to review and ascent of the Management Council.

Are the rules different for Chat, to allow a single MC member to ban a member without review?

To be frank, chat has mostly been a happy place and so these questions haven't had to be addressed previously. As such, the MC had to take some time to discuss our collective position and make some changes to chat that were probably overdue, but have now been made.
