My backcountry aircraft of choice....

So what does Pilatus do to that jet that allows it to go into unproved fields that doesn't allow other jets to do the same thing? Or can other jets do it, they just don't? Or at least not advertised to.
 
I think the design behind it was they wanted the jet to be able to do anything the pc12 could. They made a cargo door and robust landing gear. It can take off from some very short strips too.

It has a gravel kit installed on the nosewheel. Like a 737 in Alaska!

Trailing link gear coupled with STOL (for a jet) coupled with high engine and tail placement would be my guess.
