At the age of 23, Clark obtained his pilot's license and then bought a 1953 Piper Tri-Pacer (N1132C), which he flew for many years. This plane was raffled off on December 17, 2012, to benefit the charity Wings of Hope.[6] He has owned other planes, including a Mitsubishi MU-2, Stearman PT-17[7] and Mitsubishi MU-300 Diamond 1A bizjet.[8]

The younger folks on this board probably don't remember him at all, and some of us older folks mostly remember him as one of the hosts of "Hee Haw", but musicians remember him as one of the most talented and versatile pickers who ever picked up a stringed instrument.

Plus, he really knew how to make music fun.

Did a real nice cover of "Yesterday, When I Was Young" - it's on YouTube. Aside from his instrument skills, he had a credible, engaging voice, and a charismatic stage prescence.

Shocked me to hear he passed, then I shaved and saw the older guy in the mirror.
