November 1909 – John Moore-Brabazon makes the first live cargo flight by airplane when he puts a small pig in a waste-paper basket tied to a wing-strut of his airplane.
 
Semi-related - I am in Louisville and apparently there's something called the Breeder's Cup going on right now. While we were taxiing in, I spotted a 727 used for equine transport parked by one of the aprons. Air horse one!
 
ATI/ABX have run a few loads of livestock from the states over to different Asian countries for breeding stock before out of ILN here. I think pigs and cows. 767's.

And I think they have been involved with horse racing transport too.

Later Lord Brabazon of Tara and that is where the Bristol Brabazon got its name.
