Had a patient that was an alcoholic that would drink a bottle of that when he would go off the wagon. Sad really. Funny thing was he would do that are realize he really screwed up and would show up ER right away. Never turned to the “real stuff” because when he lost it, he didn’t have it around.

Maybe a doc can correct me, but I'm pretty sure isopropyl alcohol will kill you before you got drunk off of it. The alcohol we typically drink is ethanol. All "alcohol" means is that there is a hydroxyl (OH) group attached to a Carbon atom. Not all alcohols are created equal, but they do have similar properties like rate of evaporation and act as a solvent.
