Top Gun 2 Teaser

You have to be somewhat of a politician to make admiral. Most of the best officers I knew had no chance and knew it because they weren't interested in playing the game that way.

“Feel the need” to not let go of the past. He must have a sentimental attachment to his HGU-34. Gotta being paying life support a little extra on the side to inspect that thing. :D

Maverick don’t need no stinking helmet mounted display:cool:

Cheers

How’s he gonna have a backseat side kick if they went with an F-35? Duh. Actually talked to that Ltcol (ret) Berke at an air show in El Centro once. He was a young 1Lt back then.

I hope the first scene Mav gets his a$$ shotdown by a drone. Then the rest of the movie will be about the wild lifestyles of drone pilots, riding their Vespas and trying to pick up chicks at Starbucks.

Based on the 35 years since the original, the GIB of the F-18 will be Goose’s daughter.

Cheers

Awwww, crap. One of the few crew listed on IMDB is "Motorcycle Coordinator." Let the suckage begin. At least I know better this time.

Edit: Double crap, TMZ already has footage of a no-helmet-down-the-runway scene being filmed.

TOPGUN 2, Electric Boogaloo :(

So you're saying you still have that loving feeling? Feel that need!!!
Errrrr....... well..... why not cast Kate Upton in the roll of the civilian contractor [ I see an Academy Award in her future!! ]

I feel the exact opposite. The first one is only watchable if you skip all the horrible dialog, like porn. The sequel could only be better.

I won't argue with you if the sequel is nothing but awesome airplane scenes. That would make me happy.

Yeah but it’s all been done before. No technology today will make the footage any better than 1986. Be just like watching the hundreds of Go Pro helmet cams / 360 views on YT but on a big screen.

Then of course the music, style and even the love story was somewhat original back then. Top Gun itself was also widely unknown to the general public so it introduced the world to dogfighting. Finally, the Super Hornet just doesn’t have the “soul” that the Tomcat had.

So I agree, it’s a sequel that should never had been made from an entertainment perspective. From a financial investment it makes perfect sense though. It’s a no brainer because it’s gonna make a fortune in the box office.

I think Tom's contract calls for him to make at least one wild motorcycle ride and one scene without his shirt in every movie

Oh gawd... Please no reunion of the old acting crew for a mid-50's shirtless beach volley ball game. Also hope they don't dope it up unplausable CGI. Artists just can't make CGI look real. Think movies... Aviator, Red Tails, Pearl Harbor, etc.

I'm really disappointed in any aviation movie that literally has no real aircraft anywhere in the movie. As if there weren't any actual P-51s with red tails available?

Right? Compare CGI plane movies like "Red Tails" to maybe the very best WWII aircraft movie "Battle of Britain". What a difference. Even the cheesey TV series "Black Sheep Squadron" was good since they used real aircraft in all the sequences.

When will he start giving interviews saying he did all the flying himself?

Does the film finish with ,his retirement party?

I caught Top Gun again just the other day. I don't mind a corny aviation flick. A good way to kill a couple of hours with a few laughs.

Just saw the trailer. Not impressed and can't figure out the story line if there is one. Doesn't seem realistic to me at all with his age.

The storyline is man vs automation (drones). About the only logical storyline in today’s day and age.

Good news is that by flying a single seat, he won't be able to kill another RIO.

There’s a 2 seat Super Hornet with his name on the front that’s used in the filming. Also, it’s rumored that Goose’s son plays a WSO in this, so it seems they’ll be somewhat of a side kick used in the story.

I'm just happy to see some real aerial footage. It wasn't all CGI and thats all I am hoping for.

I want loud music, loud jets, and speed - hot nasty speed.

If anyone can defeat automation, it would be Mav... er, me, actually, I can't get anything to do something automatically.

I think part of the storyline will portray the difference in the military PC culture of today compared to Maverick’s time. The decay of the warfighter to appease the system of BS bureaucracy of today’s military.
