aviationweather.gov

is aviationweather goobered up AGAIN for anyone else? I punch in an airport code and it spits out any random airport that isn't the one I asked for. fookers.

try putting www in front. Some gov't sites are poorly configured and may not redirect missing the www.

I never had any problem accessing the site for 10+ years, but now it seems to be having problems.

Nope for me.
I use the site often and never have a problem. Today all I get (for the root or any sub-page) is a big blank page; no error messages.
I've tried it with and without my VPN, neither works.
I've tried it on 3 platforms (Win 10, Andorid, and iOS) and 3 browers (Firefox-Win Firefox-Droid, Safari), no joy.

"URGENT!
AviationWeather.gov has been required by DHS to institute HTTPS and HSTS protocols immediately.
Please visit the NEWS page for more information."

I think this coincided with the last outage. might be another one tomorrow.
I only use https and typically have no problem with the site. Since I can't get to it today, the link you provided dead-ends at a blank page. Any chance you could copy/paste the relevant info?

huh?

You posted a link to 'news'. I can't get to 'aviationweather.gov' (the root site) and the news page is also a dead end. It sounds like the news was related to a conversion from http to https which can bust a website if done incorrectly. I was wondering if you could get the news you were talking about and copy/paste it here so I could see if there was anything I could use to debug my issue.

Sorry for the lack of clarity.

that post was from February of this year. this thread just seems to be a long running thread of any time aviationweather has an issue. there is no news to be posted, the site is just down again. and it's not 'your' issue....that is unless you run the site.

Didn't work at 8am this morning before I left for the airport, and still not working at 3pm. Their uptime is absolutely pathetic.

LOL. Sure, I am the sys admin and let my site users serve as 'canaries'! I mean, why should I take time to monitor the site! (/humor font).

Thanks for the update. I have never had problems with the site so today is unusual. I have had issues with my ISP hence the post. This could be anything from a problem with the local backbone (I am in NE Georgia) to one of aviationweather's servers being whack.

.gov site down, whaaaaaat?

When’s the last time pornhub went down lol

Fltplan FTW
