I walk away from them, too, on 9 gph . . . . . :eek: and I don't have but 180 hp . . . .

But I did get my HP endorsement in a 182. They aren't useless, just gas hogs.
143tas on 12gph isn’t great, but it isn’t bad. I can carry a lot and go a long way too
 
There are different types and kinds of planes because pilots and mission requirements are not all the same.
 
Leasing my plane back to the flying club has its pros and cons:

Pros: it helps reduce the cost of plane ownership by a lot.

Cons: it means I have to share.

I probably should work up a table like you did to see exactly what the cost is...
 
I have the opposite problem. I don't even want to add up how much my wife is spending on the airplane. Upgrades I didn't even know I wanted. She figures it doesn't cost as much since the labor is free. She is putting the finishing touches on her shopping list for Oshkosh. But Rule #1: The wife is always right. :cool:
