More sad news this weekend

Turning into a weekend we all might prefer never happened given the news coming in from the aviation world, both ours here and the one out there.

Veteran airshow hang glider performer Dan Buchanan died yesterday during a performance at the Gunfighter Skies airshow at Mountain Air Force Base in Idaho. Buchanan was a well known performer to those of us who live in the PNW and recipient of both the Art Scholl and Bill Barber awards for Showmanship.

Sad news. Dan was a great guy, a talented pilot, and fun to hang out with. Blue skies and tailwinds...

Oh, no. I enjoyed seeing him fly and perform several times. Had the opportunity to meet and talk with him once. Very impressive man and very capable pilot.
This is so sad.
