I know, it didn't happen without pictures, but we closed around noon Friday and my partner took it on a trip around 9:00 pm. I had the opportunity to fly a 421 the same afternoon and did not have time to get any pics. I will update with pics when he gets back in a week or so.

Sweet plane, 74 310Q with the Colemill executive II conversion (IO 550's). I really wanted a turbo, but I think this gets me similar performance without the turbo maintenance (I think this is a better option). And being based in the midwest, the turbo is not really needed.

I think we got it at a fair price, maybe a little high, but it was local and my a&p has been doing the maintenance on it for the last year or so and did the last annual, plus my partner knew the seller. There was value to us in not having to look at planes not close to us and knowing at least the recent history of maintenance.

530w/430w with an s-tec 55x, shadin fuel flow and edm monitor, adding an Aspen pfd and Lynx L3. Was going to add an ac unit, but 30k just didn't make sense, we are going to order the arctic air real ac unit and have it installed.

Very excited, my parter was very pleased with the performance and fuel flow at 17k on his trip yesterday. We think this is a 3-6 year plane and then we hope to move up to a pressurized plane, 340 or a 421.

Now I just need to unload the 182.

Another twin owner on PoA.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

But I gotta admit it's rare to see a posting about anyone who is "...very pleased with the...fuel flow..." of a pair of IO-550s. ;)

He said he was making 179 tas at 17k on 21 gallons. I typically get around 180 tas at 16gph in the Columba. I am happy to pay for an extra 5gph or so for the extra engine and weigh.

The 182 shouldn't be too hard to get rid of. I think you have it priced right despite your feedback from the people in that fb group that don't know what they're talking about.

Sold my 172 in about 24 hours... would think a 182 would move fast as well. Gratz on your new ride!

Thanks, I have been getting lots of interest in the 182. It is a great plane, I might be 5k high, but I really think I have it priced about right. The Facebook post was amazing, a few people bashing the price, but more supporting the price. I decided to stay out of the debating the people posting about price.

Congratulations! The 310 is such a great airplane. :)

They typically do. His has a higher time engine, so that probably scares some people away, but it has a lot of desirable features, too.

I just love how schizophrenic this hobby can be. On one thread you got people scaring people about a 172 eating you out of house and home, on the other people overpaying for twins on a whim and calling it caveman easy transaction.

Congrats on your new 310Q Jim! I love mine...of course I have the stock 470's so I can't drag race you on the short track but maybe on the marathon. :)

Looking forward to the pictures.

Congratulations, welcome to the wonderful world of twin ownership... Hope you had the heater tested. That’s the biggie right now. Good luck and enjoy your new time machine...:rollercoaster:

Looking forward to the plane porn....
