I'm not sure as it's a rental. I know the owner installs floats on it every summer. Maybe they're used to facilitate the changeover?

The eyebolts are attachment points to lift the plane for installing the floats.
Better be careful, you are almost in violation there...... no drinkin' within 50 feet of the plane, and no closer than 8 feet bottle to throttle.....
