Gadgeteers might enjoy

  1. It doesn't seem accurate above 10 feet, or the sink rate from 70 to 5 feet was incredible
  2. What possible use could there be to having it tell you that you are at zero feet?
  3. Isn't having the gear go down automatically based on low airspeed a safety concern? I don't want anything changing the configuration of my airplane without me telling it to. Especially when I'm low and slow.
 
Why do I need a device to tell me something I can see with my own two eyes?
 
The height reporting seems to be inconsistent. Usually it reported 70, but one time it started at 60. Sometimes it reported other heights, sometimes it didn't. Once (I think), there were no callouts until 5 feet. Inconsistent alerts lead to inconsistent application of a "safety" device (meaning, it gets ignored).

Like @steingar , I'm not sure of the value of it anyway.

The Piper Arrow used to have an "auto-gear extend" "feature". As I understand it, most owners and flight schools disabled it for safety reasons.
