Power Media Player Required for Garmin GTN Familiarization DVD?

I'm not a real fan of loading all kinds of apps that I normally don't use. I have a Garmin Familiarization DVD for the GTN series. It wants to load Cyberlink Power Media Player. Does anyone know if that is required or can I use another media player?

I think the same videos are available on their YouTube channel. I recently watched the CD I was given, and I swear I saw the same ones online.
