I don't have takeoff by sportys. The one I have on android is under Real Casual Studios. It's now my go to app for aviation weather. I don't like paying for apps but this one was worth the money

Yeah basically just news and content. Looks interesting but just not sure. Anyone tried the premium subscription?

I think they borked it. All content should be free to view, but intersperse Sporty's ads to create value. Offer deals exclusively on the Takeoff app to drive traffic. Once you've built traffic, ask vendors like Garmin to buy premium ad space in directed locations (adjacent to articles about ADS-B for example).

Their existing system unfortunately has everything remotely interesting as part of the premium service, but it's not compelling enough to pay for.
