Don Herbert, better known as Mr. Wizard and our fellow pilot, died today a little more than one month away from his 90th birthday.

I grew up watching that show. He will be missed.

Oh, and a Google search showed that he flew 56 missions in the 15th Air Force as a B-24 pilot.

I still fondly remember watching him on Nickelodeon. He was absolutely great, and I think the scientific community owes him a great debt. He'll be missed.
