Why is Oklahoma 2nd in the Alphabetic list?
 
Just remember Florida has more people than New York and one quarter of the taxes.

True story: A group went to a Capital Hill Day in D.C. not so long ago for some things regarding our industry. A colleague of mine passed by one of the offices of an Illinois official who happened to be in-office at the time. Being from a healthy, progressive, growing community in Northeast Indiana but still part of Chicagoland, he took the opportunity to stop in and see the Illinois official.

So my colleague goes in, introduces himself, and says something along the lines of "I just want to thank you for all the great things you've done for us. Your political battles, tax policies, corruption, and budgeting have really sent a lot of businesses over our way, it's contributing significantly to our growth and positive atmosphere, and we greatly appreciate it."

He was escorted out of that particular office.

How many former Illinois governors are in prison right now? 3?

Over 100 Cook County alderman have been convicted of accepting bribes, the others didn't get caught!

Illinois is the most corrupt state in the country!

It's been that way forever. That's how Al Capone (among others) got his start and how he was able to go so far before the Feds (Untouchables) got involved. Politicians, judges, police could all be bought.
 
BTW son and I had a great lunch at the Tin Goose, Port Clinton, OHIO last Tuesday.
 
The definition for Nebraska is odd. True, but odd none the less.

By numbers of football championships. Hence, Alabama, Oklahoma. And Texas being waaayyyyy down the list....

You might be onto something.
In that case, Texans would probably petition to sort the list by the size of the state, largest first. And they would also demand that it be contiguous states. :goofy:
