    Mid-Air at Winter Haven

And you've hit the nail on the head there, it's time to make radios mandatory not optional. Ok old aircraft with no electrics was once acceptable as there wasn't an alternative, but these days for a few dollars, you can install a battery powered handheld. Tim Preston had one in his non electrics...

    Mid-Air at Winter Haven

I did my tailwheel endorsement with my friend Tim Preston in his Stearman and his Cub when he still had it, Tim is the most good natured mild mannered guy you could ever meet, but on more than a few occasions I've seen him shake his head and curse at some of the antics witnessed at KGIF.... and...

    Mid-Air at Winter Haven

Isn't that the truth, by co-incidence one encounter I had was at KGIF, I had called left mid field downwind for 05 and then some bod came on and also said mid field downwind for 05 ! My head began to swivel front, side to side up and down..I asked for confirmation of just where in the pattern...

Lake Jessie where Jack Browns are located is surrounded by lakeside homes, so in the interest of keeping residents happy they generally just take off and land there but do their training touch and go flights at one of the nearby lakes which is less residential.

    Mid-Air at Winter Haven

KGIF was my home field from 2010 and pretty much up to 2018 and year on year the field got busier and busier, especially with visiting training flight ops, and you really need to be on your A game flying in and out of there these days. I also did my floatplane endorsement with Jack Browns and...

A large woman, wearing a sleeveless sun dress, walks into a pub in Dublin She raises her right arm, revealing a huge hairy armpit. She points to all the people sitting at the bar and asks, “What man here will buy a lady a drink?” The bar goes silent as the patrons try to ignore her. But down at...

    A tough decision

Been there got the t-shirt...we had Wilfred our devil cat for 19 years, He was always my wife's buddy but pretty much ignored me for all those years unless he was waiting to pounce at me from under a bush where he used to sit when I was busy doing any yard work. I don't think he ever forgive me...

Yes flight of 4 from Spruce Creek Air Park over nr. Daytona Beach, No use speculating too much as to the cause, fuel ? Medical condition ? Mechanical ? as there wasn't any post crash fire I expect it will help the NTSB guys reach their conclusions pretty quickly. I don't think the weather...

Anyone ever go to the Ferrari factory or rent a Ferrari in Italy?

There is a reason most Rental Ferrari's are now using the fully auto transmission models is the renters abuse the paddle shift models, we used to rent our F430 out and it cost us a fortune keeping clutch packs in the car due to sport mode starts off the line.. In the end the abuse the car got...
