    Are there ANY EFIS that are certified for primary airspeed indication?

    The E5 does not require a backup: "Backup attitude indicator not required" (https://aspenavionics.com/products/general-aviation/evolution-e5-primary-flight-display#contentTab2) Regardless, I kept my vac system and mechanical AI as a backup. Makes me happy when I can't see outside. :-)

    Anyone have an Aspen E5 Installed?

    I've got an E5 awaiting installation by Gary Jet Center. Should go in w/in the next month. Have a KT 74 coming in too. All will be mated up with an IFD440 that was installed last September. Stay tuned... :-)

    Could be a single instrument with two needles stacked, but the most common configuration is just two indicators, isn't it?

    Simulated IFR without a hood

    When I took my IFR checkride the examiner explicitly proscribed the use of "foggles". I hear a lot of people agree they're not nearly restrictive enough.
