giving out something free and beneficial for aviation, ABUSE! The man must be flogged!
(thanks) :)
There is an MTR right off the end of the runway at LHZ, and the harriers used to come streaking by at about 1000' and 300kts. Haven't seen any in about 10 years though - it would wake you up
can't we just designate some US highways where this kind of activity will take place? Nothing makes a boring drive better than the smell of jet A
edit, fixed
Patriot's point is definitely cool, especially the sub. I went on the Ft. Sumter tour - It was pretty interesting but honestly I don't remember being blown away by it. The boat ride around the harbor is nice though.
I've been with DVA for a couple of years - I worked up to the DC-8 program but thankfully I now have enough cash to pretty much get my fix in the real world!
Acceleration is fun except for the helo missions which always seem to stick you in a hover next to a cliff with no visual reference.
darn - forgot to ask for one-six right this year, but I did get a Miter saw! Unfortunately now I'm expected to actually use it to do improvements to the house, Otherwise known as things that cut into my flying budget.
Yeah, I meant at altitude. Since that plane has 40 deg of flaps I haven't had much need to steepen up the approach anymore than that, and with just me in there it stalls somewhere south of 50 anyway.
Thanks for trying to keep me out of the weeds ;)
I'm glad I read all of this. I saw the placard on the 172N I rent and never pressed for more information about it, and none of the instructors I flew with made a point of demonstrating it to me. Now I have something to try out next time I go up.
