Need Help Picking the right Cabin Class

Lance, Why don’t you put real numbers from your experience? The OP will know it’s based on a short timeframe of ownership but also know he is getting real world numbers. I’m quoting figures from twin cessna owners but of course, it’s not first hand feedback.

Need Help Picking the right Cabin Class

If you are serious about cabin class cessna twins, you need to do several things: 1. Join the twin cessna flyers org. You will get much more informed answers than what you’ve gotten so far. 2. Be honest with yourself about the financial wherewithal to purchase ANY cabin class piston twin. A...

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

Interesting responses. Apparently, people here don’t understand how price segmention works in avaiation. $175k + $150k base airplane to save what? 4-6gal/hr of fuel? Really? This makes very little sense in the LARGEST GA market in the world. They won’t stay in business because of one off...

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

This company is taking a short, tortuous path to bankruptcy. If you can’t sell a new diesel engine for profit at price of a factory overhauled avgas engine...you will be bankrupt inside 10years.

New/updates on Diesel engines at OSH

Why does anyone take deltahawk seriously? I think the ultimate statement is to have a plane fly into OSH powered by your new whiz-bang engine...

New/updates on Diesel engines at OSH

Anyone wandered over to Continental, EPS, or other manufacturers trying to get diesel/Tet-A engines Certified? If so any news?

    210 or 337?

Ken! You are back at owning a Baron...how does it compare to the P337 you owned? how about the Twinco & the seneca III? also, why did you move away from the lancair and back to a piston twin?

    New to me 310I

Congrats on your C-310. I am going into year 3 of owning my C-310K...i will be putting it for sale later this year however. On fuel pumps: Low = take-off (great tool to control cylinder head temperatures (CHTs) during climbs), landing & probably high altitudes (never needed to turn it on up to...

Avweb’s Mooney Ovation Ultra Flight Report

Yawn. That company should innovate or die already...they need to compete with Cirrus which means in addition to FINALLY putting a pilot side door they also need to: Update the design by increasing the cabin width (6-8 inches) & length. Install a chute - in an pod/enclosure of its own making...

    SR22 vs Twin Comanche

Rudy, no offense/slam intended on my part. i'm saying that the lack of multi rating is a deterrent to considering piston twins since most people will naturally minimize non value added activities. Therefore, getting a multi (for the sake of considering a piston twin) would be seen as a...

    SR22 vs Twin Comanche

My observation is that many Cirrus owners (and single engine land airplane owners too) don't have a Multi rating like most non-commercial pilots. It makes these folks more susceptible to believe the asinine argument about how a single is "safer" or "more advantageous" than a twin. Visit...

    SR22 vs Twin Comanche

1 million with sublimits...i forget limit on passengers but wanna say $100k per? i can look it up later.

    SR22 vs Twin Comanche

I know its not an answer to your question but...my C-310 insurance is about $1800/yr. I am CFI/II/MEI, and had about 1500TT & 250hrs multi with no time in type at the time... i suspect a newbie (no or minimal twin time) will be about 2-2.5x that...about $3600-$4500...or so my agent told me.

Twin Ownership - Year 1 The ups and downs

I've never seen soo many TTCF members in a forum not in the TTCF forums....and providing timely feedback...unlike the TTCF forum. While the TTCF forum has a lot of type specific knowledge, its lack of activity makes it a Jeb Bush ("low energy") forum compared to Beechtalk for instance...
