    Do I need a BFR?

Thanks guys. That's what I figured just wanted to verify. Fortunately I fly a few hours a week and feel more proficient than I've ever been(hope I'm not being over confident). Peace! T Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Do I need a BFR?

I recently received my instrument rating this April. I would be due for a BFR at the end of this month but I understand a new rating restarts the BFR clock. However chatting with a local CFI, he mentioned that for a new rating to count as a BFR, it was to be specifically signed off that way in...

    Pessimist view of GA

Cirrus and now icon has done a great job addressing #1 by advertising in lifestyle/"rich guy" media. As an unfortunate side effect I think it has caused the lay person to think they must spend $250 on an icon to get into aviation, and $600k on a cirrus to get any utility with it. Sent from my...

    Pessimist view of GA

Making non-ethinal mogas availible would do almost as much to cut hourly cost, without any of the technical challenges of all electric. Many existing planes can fly for $25/hr in mogas if you can find it.

    Debonair...what am I missing

I'm aware of those drawbacks but for the price, I'm happy to look past them. The panel layout sucks but I would completely redo that. What price would I expect to pay for a corotion free airframe and mid time engine with no other bells and whistles? $40k? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Debonair...what am I missing

That is part of the reason I'm drawn to this plane as a "keeper". It's fast as is but can be made even faster and better high altitude come overhaul time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Debonair...what am I missing

I know an always hangared plane will look better but how much will it effect the mechanical soundness of the airframe. I would probably modernize the panel with a 6pack and state of the art garmin stack and electric standby gyros. I would also modernize the interior and repaint eventually so I...

    Debonair...what am I missing

I've had my eyes on M20Cs, 201s, and if I could find a good partner, an older Cirrus or diamond. Never paid much attention the the beech stuff. The other day I decided to browse through debonair son TaP and was surprised to find many early models listed in the 30k-40k range. That seems like a...

    When dreams come true... (long)

Question about your bidding system. Is there a minimum number of flights you have to bid on, or do you basically set your own schedule? Let's day you had a "real job" Thursday-Saturday, could you only mid for flights on Monday-Wednesday and essentially make it a part time gig? Sent from my...

Places to rent a 172 in Chicago

I am visiting family in Chicago in a couple weeks. I am looking for somewhere I can rent a 172 to fly around Lake Michigan while I am there. Anyone know of any good FBOs/Flight schools that you would recommend. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
