Anyone Fly into KORL Recently? $50 fee

LOL.... Lennie Dick was certainly a personality. I avoided Montauk like the plague back in the 80's when I lived and flew on LI. I did a few charters to Fishers, but never left the airport grounds.

Things I’ve learned as a captain after a month

We used to power back with pax as SOP in the Dash 7 in BOS and DCA. We also used to power back to park at our MX base in the ATR and J-31.

Congrats on the upgrade Jordan! Now you always get to fly with your favorite A**hole Capt! You'll find your "style" after a bit.

Southwest oopsie - ‘woman partially sucked out of window’

Wasn't he the FO in the UAL deal at SUX? I'm a 22 year WN guy.... FWIW, $300k is on the lower end of the Capt pay spectrum at SW. I am a slacker, flew 102 days last year and I beat that. There are always a couple $500k+ guys, but they, literally, have no lives. One of our HOU Capts made...

    Uh Oh! The airlines again...

"I haven't flown since 9/11, if I have to go to Atlanta for work I drive and bring back gas receipts and get reimbursed. It's cheaper and safer."

    PIREP Spirit Airlines

Always..... When I commuted on an airplane, if I had time, I would always change into civvies..... At the very least, I'd ditch the epaulets and tie........

I used to ride on AA's MD-11s a lot, and you could almost get horizontal across the 2 jumpseats in that cockpit. It was huge....

    PIREP Spirit Airlines

LOL.. Yeah, I've spent more than my fair share of time in both 737 jump seats..... I don't mind the main one, but the second one sucks, even for a short hop. I always move my seat up as far as I can and still be able to manipulate the controls when I have someone in that seat.

I always give the jumpseater the option....... I don't care either way.

Delta MadDog engine failure this morning!

Yup..... I sat reserve for 5.5 out of 7 years in a previous life. I got lucky at my current gig and have only had to endure 2 months of reserve (one when I was a new hire, and one about 10 years ago when I forgot to bid! You only do that once!) in over 2 decades and, even now, I have zero...

    PIREP Spirit Airlines

LOL..... I've ridden them 3 times in the past decade, and I chose the JS on 2 of them. The other was in whatever they call "business class" and it was still not as comfortable as Fifi's JS. They're the easiest way for me to get to/from ACY......

Delta MadDog engine failure this morning!

Yup... Other than seniority, living in base is the key to a happy life in the airlines. Both is best! I bid all of my vacation in the winter time, and while I've never actually gone non current, I come close every year. To the point where I cannot manipulate my schedule outside of the 90 day...

Delta MadDog engine failure this morning!

No kidding...... I've been on the same airplane, at the same company for 21 years. Every time I start studying for training, I feel like a new hire. The term "when did this change?" is uttered frequently to myself.... Don't get me started on the annual deicing procedures changes. They really...
