CFI - Regular Instructor or Academy?

Hey folks - I'm finishing up my ratings, and the last thing I need to get done is the CFI or CFII. Originally, my intentions were to goto American Flyers in Dallas TX, as I have a bunch of friends that went for their CFI course and said it was very comprehensive (classroom setting...

US Airways A320 Crash Into Hudson River

US Air A320 Crashes into Hudson River http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=6658028&page=1 150 people on board - all lived. No major injuries. This seems amazing to me...the aircraft was in the air, and made a controlled landing on a river, with minimal damage. Wow. That's one hell of a pilot.

    Adieu, Gentlefolk

You'd be shunning the very principle that online forums represent if you withdrew at this point. What else is a Forum except a place where people of similar as well as opposing viewpoints come together to discuss?

    New Orleans next week

Have a good trip! I'm a native of New Orleans, (Although I live up in Ruston, LA currently) Make sure to stuff yourself with the great food, and resist the urge to walk around on Bourbon St. After 10pm. - Crime is bad these days. Flying into Lakefront or Moisant?

Anyone have any experience with U.S. Patents or the process?

Wow. Scott - Amazing post, and extremely helpful. So if I *dont* have a big bankroll (Which is true) and would never have the funds to defend an infringement anyway, should I just send myself the stuff I do to secure a date, or not even bother with that? .....now, to figure out how to get...

Anyone have any experience with U.S. Patents or the process?

Yikes. $600 for a professional patent search, Bwtn $2-3000 for the rest of the patent process, including drawings. That's quite depressing for a college student such as myself. It also seems like I'll have to partner with an engineer before I even begin the patent process in order to have...

Anyone have any experience with U.S. Patents or the process?

Thanks for the advice Ken. Regarding the design - I have no experience in tool design, will I need to find a partner who can actually design this product, or is just having a basic idea suffice for a patent? I've heard a working mockup is practically a requirement.

Anyone have any experience with U.S. Patents or the process?

@ Tony - great cartoon, brings me back to my childhood days of reading book after book of Calvin & Hobbs. @ Everyone else - thanks a ton for all the advice. I will be contacting a patent attorney this week. I assume the only way to offset the costs of getting the patent is to actually market...

Anyone have any experience with U.S. Patents or the process?

Hey folks - Not sure if this is in the right forum or not. I've worked as a lineman at local airports and FBOs for the past 4 years or so, and today an idea hit me for a tool that would be great for small FBOs, big FBOs and even individual aircraft owners. This is a tool that I could...

    Biplanes

...man I wish I was around one of these tour spots. I loved Bach's book(s) and would love to get a chance to go up in one of those planes.
