Saw the plane sitting on the ramp yesterday as I was taxiing. Other than the collapsed nose gear, didn’t look to be much damage. I’d say he did a bloody good job putting it down on the 580 fwy. Usually a lot of cars in the Dublin-Livermore area.

Well, y’all might wanna stay outta the skies for a while. After having to postpone my Checkride twice due to smoke from the CA wildfires, I took my ride today. And passed! Kinda surreal.

Had my checkride scheduled for today. Was to fly from KLVK (Livermore) to O22 (Columbia). DPE has asked me to plan the XC from O22 to KHAF (Half Moon Bay). Had everything done then late yesterday 3 TFRs popped up due to brush fires and allowing for tanker traffic. Tons of smoke, winds 16kts...

Yes, I was referring to gusts, not a constant steady wind. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear. Thanks for the scuba diving comparison. Not sure I’ll be thinking much about flippers and O2 tanks much on base to final tho . It’s all good, I’ll figure it out through lots of practice.
