We were flying from KAEG to KOKC on a recent coast to coast flight...it was pretty turbulent at all the altitudes, and in the end we couldn't take 4 hours of that. Simply told ATC we were diverting to KAMA and they cleared us direct. They did ask and "just because" seemed like a valid answer.

I think we'll have to strip and paint...the paint is stripping around rivets already and bare skin is showing. Its especially bad on the top of the wings, so that may be our only option.

I fly a 182T and DA40 regularly...and honestly, don't prefer one over the other. Sure, the 182 is a better for the NYC skyline tour over the Hudson, but for the most other flights, it doesn't matter.

My club's 182T is due for a paint job, and I'm gathering some numbers...got estimates from one shop in MD for $19K and another in PA for $16K. Never done this before, so not sure if these numbers are ballpark? Nothing special, just a regular paint job using vanilla pattern and colors.

After about 6 years of use, my Bose A20s are beginning to lose first syllable of every transmission. I had them "renewed" by Bose but no help. I'm going to try the PS2 and see how they work in the 182s and DA40 I fly regularly.
