My CFI has told me to wait until I'am over the numbers of the runway before I start reducing power. And I'm pretty sure he has only been instructing for only a year or so now.

So I'm very far in my flight training from the point of being a CFI (only about 5 hours in on my PPL). But I'am very curious about what typical CFI pay/hours is like. Does it depend on where you instruct? Do people instruct as there full time job?(i think my CFI has another job as well)...

Thanks for all the replies everyone!! I'll definitely take these things into consideration next time I go up! I agree with the heel on the floor strategy and slowing taxi speed down. I'm hoping to go up a week from Friday so I'll keep everyone updated on how I do.
