    Metformin and BasicMed

Same here, mostly. The main thing it does on that front is making any food that's in transit "expedite off", which is worth a handful of lbs.

Why do they say "Anyone can learn how to fly"?

Flying is the easy part. It's the decision making and the bizarre rules that's hard. Well that and unlike most modern devices, aircraft have a lot of controls and buttons that can damage the aircraft and/or unalive you without trying to stop you. For instance, we've all seen the video of a...

Flight school located on short field or grass strip

To be fair, the paperwork at some flight schools restricts or discourage runways under 2500' or so. Maybe he wants to thread that needle?

Are there pilots who've never used paper maps?

It's funny cause I carry them solely as a backup, but usual go through cycles without opening then even once

Is the data plate the aircraft?

At this point, does an "authority" with any gatekeeping ability exist? "Academic English" is astonishingly absent in most of adult life.

Is the data plate the aircraft?

But isn't it the "same" aircraft? Just so happens 95% of the aircraft was exceeded tolerance and required major repairs. Something similar to a common practice in CA of tearing down all but 1 wall and remodeling the house to reduce the tax assessment.

Is the data plate the aircraft?

My good sir, aviation runs on the honor system.

PPR and Landing Fee Nonsense Again in Vegas for Superbowl

Beyond the airport pricing I get the feeling that 2/3 of Vegas is trying to pivot to the higher net worth clientele ... Whether you flew in or drove in.

Is the data plate the aircraft?

What part of an aircraft is the aircraft for registration and regulatory purposes? Is it simply the data plate? If so, does this mean one could theoretically do an extreme Ship of Theseus in aviation? Hypothetically, let's say Bob lands an old 210 a bit hard, he's uninjured but it burst into...

Are there pilots who've never used paper maps?

Paper today is like NDBs back in the 2000s. You train with them a few times not to regularly use, but solely as an "if everything else fails" type of skill. Besides, unfolding a giant map to ask "where are we?" is the best way for a CFI to subtly get their student into a UA.;)

Are there pilots who've never used paper maps?

Well yea, but surely you've used paper at some point during the student pilot phase? If for no other reason than to satisfy the pilotage task.

Are there pilots who've never used paper maps?

A few weeks ago I had over of those "oh crap, I'm the old guy" moments when a another club member asked "Have you ever used paper maps before?". The question was so foreign to me. Are there actually pilots who've only used electronic sectionals? How does one do the whole pilotage and DR stuff...

    2023 aviation goals

Well this didn't go to plan. 1) did all the aeronautical experience stuff, but not confident about the oral portion. 2) did this. It's weird to rush to the airport only to find your flyable IMC turned into a giant swath of VMC. 3) Not sure why I crash a 250g drone so much but fly a 1 ton bird...

    I Like Night Flight

She seems to fly better in the cooler calmer air.

    Found my night VFR limit

I can appreciate that. For me, pre-gps the worry on VFR nights was not UA, but that if i somehow wondered a few miles off course I might struggle to see dark terrain against a dark sky. My current fear I'm going to tackle one day is flying towards the ocean at night. In an otherwise VFR night...
