    0-320 Carburetor rebuilds

Anyone that believes Kelly produces a quality product knows nothing about aircraft. I had three of their alternators, none of which lasted more than 50 hours and was forced out of necessity to buy a rebuilt Bendix mag from them. The P lead fitting was loose in it’s hole. I had to remove the one...

First annual with my new plane - what would the FAA say?

You pay extra for the maintenance, the 100 hour says it should be done not that the inspector has to do it,

    Replacing Wing Fuel Drains

Torch and a fuel tank. How much insurance you have upon that plane, no matter they probably have a idiot exemption. When they weld them they take great precautions to remove all flamable conditions,

    Report for repairs to FAA

If I do a major repair I describe the damage, describe the repair and spell out the approved supporting documentation used in formulating the repair. If it's not in the log book walk away.

    Corrosion.

You want to see corrosion pull out a glley or lav in a airliner, it a wonder what was holding them in place. The limit oncorrision is 10% loss of thickness. I've also changed many belly skins on Boeings because in flight they're a little nose up in cruise. Everything ends up back there. End up...

    182P seat rail replacement

It's up to the guy signing it off, unless you're a A&P this is not a job for the unqualified. If I was signing it off and installing it it would be my way or find another mechanic. Actually I'd install it either ay but the cost would be adjusted accordanly.

    182P seat rail replacement

W What? There are several types of screws that are significantly stronger than a AD rivet.

    Frozen throttle cable

What? You push them in, you don't have to spin them.

    Frozen throttle cable

I wouldn't be taking maintenance advise from a CFI, I know one guy that flys his piper full rich all the time because a CFI told him to do it. He wonders why he always has fouled plugs.

    64’ 172E ailerons tension

I would find a mechanic that works on airplanes in a legal manner, ie. having the reference material that is required.

    Proactive battery replacement?

I would change it just because it's a Gill. You're lucky it lasted this long.

    A&P/IA shortage

Why? Because airports require you to have insurance, in my case the absolutely lowest quote I could get is $6000 a year. There is no desire for me to work on airplanes and have to do at least 7 annuals to just pay for the insurance. Than and I have no desire to deal with cheap airplane owners...
