    Find my takeoff error?

Sounds like a good reason to do touch and goes. Need practice flying the plane. Head out the window, ailerons to maintain centerline, rudder to maintain direction. Anticipate additional power at slow speed will require additional right rudder. If he always does t & g s what will be his muscle...

    Landing and Wind

Carry 1/2 the gust component additional. Learning to land with too much airspeed will carry you off the end of a runway or porpoising one day. The 1.3 Vso you are using is probably for gross and already conservatively high.

    Pilotage and Dead Reckoning

Good way points, a sectional, a nav log, DG, compass and a watch. No problem. Lots of fun. I'm always amazed by how good winds aloft are and flying right over the way points real close to schedule. I fly all around the NY airspace. It's how I was taught with no GPS. I thought a VOR was a...

    Your school's/instructor's requirements to solo

This was the interpretation from my instructor and the FSDO, also with my monocular vision. If you can't solo what is the point of the certificate. After the SMFT I was issued a new medical certificate / student pilot certificate.

    Your school's/instructor's requirements to solo

I took my training out of BDR. After you get your SODA they will never test the bad eye again. You don't want to squeak the bad eye through then have to worry about it every medical after that. I would be more than happy to let you know what you can expect.

    Your school's/instructor's requirements to solo

I needed to take a Medical Flight Test to obtain a SODA for monocular vision. I soloed way before I took the MFT. My instructor let me know that he soloed me earlier most of his students. Please pm me if there are any questions I can answer regarding the process if you would like.

Stuff to have with you on cross countries?

If you will be giving rides. Large empty peanut butter jar. Better than vomit bags. Large mouth catches everything and sealable lid stops the odor. Can also provide relief in a pinch.

    Most Challenging Airport

N72 Warwick Muni 2150 x28 On 21 approach can't see run way on down wind or first half of base, because of trees. Steep hill with tall trees on final and a lake four feet off the south end of run way. Last cross country dual with instructor. I think it must be harder for the instructor just...

Simple Flight Planning / ATC Procedure Question

Just a heads up. Kobelt is a bit south east of where indicated by the gps / chart location. If you approach from the East can be tricky to see. Small airport in the trees. Nice restaurant. Enjoy.

    Landing

You need consistency at this point in your training (use the technique your instructor is teaching you). If there are nuances in his teaching you are not fully comprehending you need to communicate with your CFI and get that from him. Many references have errors in them including the FAA...

Rod Machado's Private Pilot's Handbook Some corny humor but really good with the details.
