And don't forget 2 or more flights per week by Air Force two. I wouldn't be surprised if that in itself is justification for the FAA to keep the tower at KILG staffed.
Is that in Chesapeake VA? I tried to register for that but the class was full. I was wait listed but apparently no one cancelled.

I was thinking it would be low altitude for the tow plane to release the rope because the tow rope could potentially snag it trees (at least at my club field) if the glider pilot isn't quick with the release. Makes sense to climb to higher altitude if you can. Thanks.
My last flight was yesterday for a Flight Review in an Aeronca Champ. The day before was a 1.6 hour X-C flight in a Skyhawk in the morning and a 1.3 hour flight in a Grob 103 glider in the afternoon. :thumbsup:
Are you sure about the cub rental? It hasn't been available since the FBO management changed earlier this year. The new management told me they plan to offer it for rent again and said they'd let me know when it's available, but I haven't heard anything from them and every time I ask they say...
