    NTSB Accident Records

My two cents: This is a term called "on a mission". Sometimes I refer to it as the worse drug on this planet! Its takes a lot of courage to say "no"! However, once you've been up there, barely hanging to your dear life, wishing you were on the ground, staying on the ground next time around...

172SP G1000 Tach Failure Made Me Drive Back!

Doable by just referencing airspeed - yes Smart - probably not considering near baby IFR conditions over LI Sound, FARs and the thoughts of what else is going next? Did I curse non-stop for 5 hours during the drive back home thinking I could have been home in bed 3 hours ago - ABSOLUTELY!!! :) LOL

Rebooted several times, it did nothing.

172SP G1000 Tach Failure Made Me Drive Back!

Not sure when exactly 100 hour was done on this one, but NFI is very strict with prompt maintenance as my plane is in the program as well and there is no funny business. Once it hits 100 hour its maintenance time no exceptions even if I need it badly; actually this is exactly why I rented this...

172SP G1000 Tach Failure Made Me Drive Back!

Still waiting on rental company to call me and let me know their verdict. They were supposed to go get it this morning and bring it back to the shop. My money is on a faulty sensor that needs replacement.

172SP G1000 Tach Failure Made Me Drive Back!

Hey Everybody! Thought I would share my little weekend story and see if any one had similar experience with G1000 Tachometer. I invited 2 of my friends that have never been on a small plane before and figured a nice little dinner trip from KFRG (Long Island, NY) to KBED (Hanscom Field in...

    Korean 777 Down in SFO

Just heard from a witness (CNN TV) who was on that flight that confirmed that pilot throttled the engines just before they touched the ground, which again kind of proves the theory that he was too low or stalled. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HDtalled

    Korean 777 Down in SFO

No argument, it is too early to judge. However, based on all info available seems like a very probable cause, unless there were technical issues with the 777. Considering there was no distress call, seems like a tired pilot, long way from South Korea, misjudged his glide path onto the runway or...

    Korean 777 Down in SFO

Seems pretty obvious - too low, clipped seawall with landing gear - accident, as a result of a pilot error. No brainier here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Took off with a parking brake on

My brakes got jammed as I tried to release hand brake to taxi to the runway. Long story short - not using it ever again! Apparently PA28 are known for this issue; few clicks of failed release and you're done, unless you are mechanic and have necessary tools to release the latch. Sent from...

    Hudson River Tour

Don't get me wrong, the "wow" factor was definitely there, but when I landed and the instructor said "what do you say to leaning how to fly?" My response was very simple - no thanks, I'll stick with the car. And I wasn't scared, I did greatly enjoy the experience and scenery, it felt very cool...

I did same exact flight with same company back in 1997, but unfortunately that flight did nothing for me. It took long 15 years to get my PPL :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
