Transport Canada Shuts Down Buffalo Joe

It's inexcusable to fly old pistons overgross. There is little or no margin and lets face it, turbines replaced piston power for reliability reasons. When the jug blows off its mounts you crash. The're **** lucky they didn't kill 24 people. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

    Garmin GTN 6xx/7xx thread

Not a Garmin issue but jpi. Jpi box internals is ge!nerating rf interference which leaks out via the wire. Quick Fix is to put a filter on the sensor wire. Proper fix is for jpi to 1) better test their hw and 2) put a low pass filter internally on the outputs which is a hw mod. Sent from my...

    Kx155 Repair

Power supply failure can fry a lot of parts. Usually if the repair bill is to be that high, it's considered scrap. The shop told you and it's best to trade the 300 for the parts value. Get a replacement radio, don't put that kind of money into it. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

Subarctic Quebec trip report. AKA: The Bahamas of the North!

Almost forgot!!! Troice Riviers Outch that actually hurts my ears. How about Three rivers :-) Technically, even though its in the middle of nowhere 500 Feet is the minimum vfr in Canada, not down on the deck. If you wind up in the bush, hit some rocks going in you may not be able to use the...

Subarctic Quebec trip report. AKA: The Bahamas of the North!

Yep, the great white north. Done a fair amount of northern exploration - some of the best trips ever. Florida - yawn. The north west is even better! In reality Quebec is float plane country. Quite a few Maine pilots fish and hunt up there. You needed to get to Frobisher bay! There are a lot...

iPad 4!!! and iPad Mini announced today

There is a fundamental difference between Apple and Google concerning tablets. Apple needs a large profit margin, Google has decided to sell at nearly cost to get into the market. That alone guarantees nexus h/w will deliver more bang for the buck. Apple has more apps for the moment. There...

    Etiquette question regarding landing fees

Back to fees. So, if all the above is true, there is nothing stopping some FBO from saying: I'm going to get that sob in the Lear. The ramp fee for him is, say, $10,000. Pay or else. Anyone can claim and put a lean on a property (even if its is an imperfect lean) and trade or mechanics leans...

    Etiquette question regarding landing fees

Since when can someone block an aircraft with an engine running - or even not running. Isn't there a federal law to prevent interference with any aircraft? A quick call to 911 would fix that but quick I think.
