I sure hope you mean 500gb of space available. 500mb isn't enough to install just about any game now...heck, Mech Warrior 3 from 1999 is 600mb if I remember correctly. For reference, my xplane 11 install is over 70gb.

    Aviation Goals for 2020

    1. A long (to me) XC from KOFP to KFFA. 2. Get my endorsement to land at towered fields. I am a sport pilot.

    Checkride 2019... final tips?

Sounds like the checkride taught you a valuable lesson. It was easier than you prepared for? Treat every flight like that and you'll set yourself up for a fun and safe flight every time. Congrats!

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Good luck! After the first few questions of the oral, the nerves went away for me. Once that was wrapped up, I just got excited knowing we were about to go flying, and flying is always fun.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

You're spot on, Nate. The "help" was just additional discussion to get me to think more about the scenario and dig deeper into my brain. In no way was an answer provided for me! That's one reason why I liked this DPE (I assume many others follow this style). He really made me think, and it...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Thanks! Note, this is for Sport Pilot. The past three months of my flight training really slowed down due to family schedules. With that, I got a bit discouraged thinking I'd never get to my checkride. Finally it got to the point where my wife and I sat down and said that it just had to be...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I can no longer post here as a student. Because I passed my checkride today.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I am calm. Sorta. Just been waiting 31 years for this day, thinking I'd never be able to make it happen for about 99‰ of the time. I'm not worried about the checkride really, just well-aware of how much it means to me that I'm actually doing this. Been sleeping OK since that night!

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I'm at that point where one starts to lose sleep prior to a checkride. 15 days away and my brain is so loaded with knowledge that it wakes me up at 2am.

You are responsible for your training

I think part of the problem is that new students don't know what to look for. They may think a subpar instructor is doing a great job, not knowing any better.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

I passed my knowledge test today. Didn't do as we as I had hoped, but I know what I can brush up on. Mock oral on Monday.

    Checkrides cost how much? Really?

Just scheduled my Sport Pilot checkride. $550.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Good luck! I think most of us did/do/will feel nervous. It's a big deal to become a pilot, and no amount of preparation will eliminate the butterflies on a day when, for most people, a life-long dream will come true.
