    ADIZ advice, please

Hi Bob, I've flown a helo into Perry Cabin but it was just before 9/11. It's a beautiful spot. There are no heliport markings afaik. Generally you park behind the building between the parking lot and the road in the grass. There's a flagpole back there which gives a good wind indication...

    8N7, a different airport

It's a little close to Lancaster but Butter Valley (7N8) is a great little spot in the middle of a golf course with a restaurant on the field.

    8N7, a different airport

I've been in there a few times with no problem. Of course it was either in a Bell 47 or a Bell Jet Ranger. A buddy of mine instructs in the area and would always take his students there in the 47.

May get home a little later than I planned?

Relax. Personally if I were in your shoes, I'd commit to not flying today. (I've wasted more time with the family on hold as I watched bad weather hoping it would clear sufficiently.) I haven't studied your weather situation but I don't think I would fly SAF to ADS today in my aircraft...

    Airplane to Helicopter -Headset ?

The adapters work fine. I've used them on Bose headsets with no discernable loss of effectiveness. (Much cheaper than buying add'l bose x headsets.)

    What would you do?

Technically you are cleared to cross 12 however either the ATIS is out of date or the controller made a mistake. Personally, I would confirm permission to cross 12 before I did so.

    sudoku

I have to admit that I've gotten sucked into the craze. Here are a couple other links to online games: http://www.su-doku.net/ http://www.vnunet.com/spotlight/sudoku http://www.dkmsoftware.com/sudoku/

PA & NJ trip, need suggestions

Caldwell (KCDW) is next closest to the Meadowlands after Teterboro. Towered, lots of small plane activity but no big corporate stuff to get in your way.

Will they let me fly direct at FL110?

I used to be based up there and would seldom get a direct routing. Although I've often gotten cleared to downstream waypoints while enroute (as long as you're /G). My guess is you'll get airways. By the way, it's 11,000 feet not fl110. It's only called fl110 if you flying without a local...

    Corny but effective sayings

a few from an old movie (Atomic Cafe I think. The mother was the one coming out with them.): every path has its puddle nothing dries faster than a tear a girl who gets wrapped up in herself makes a mighty small package.

    Unique Gift? I hope.

What people seem to like to see the most from the air is ...stuff on the ground. So as long as turbulence isn't bad, I'd suggest low level sightseeing. Out of BWI to the eastern shore of the chesapeake, north to the susquehana then up the susquehana to Lancaster for lunch and an opportunity to...

    Challenging approach for practice

Re: Maybe not so challenging in the conventional way, but... I flew the gps approach into Sun Valley last winter. It's a similar profile. It descends from 8600 to 7100. (Airport is at 5300.) What made it somewhat interesting was that Approach keep me at 10,500 until about ten miles from...
