Matt Goodrich

Aviation:
Matt grew up with an uncle with a passion for aviation, several bonanzas, and the ability go give instruction. When Matt was 15, he spent the summer in Tucson with his Uncle Dan - working in his engineering firm during the day, and working in the hangar on the bonanza in the evenings at Marana (KAVQ), learning to fly or flying with friends and family to GA destinations (Catalina Island - KAVX and Brown Field - KSDM). After returning home from the summer any money he made went into getting his car ready to drive - a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang - but still playing flight simulator when he had free time. Fast forward to Christmas 2016, thanks to his wife Shawna and family contributions, Matt was able to start flying again at Vector Air in Erie, CO (KEIK). Life changes - building a house, and having their first child - put a temporary pause on completing his PPL. Once life settled down, and thanks in part to career progression, Matt was able to start training again in mid-2020, and completed his PPL checkride on February 2, 2021. Shortly after his checkride, Matt joined a partnership based out of Centennial, CO (KAPA) in a 1976 Cessna 182Q. Life once again had new plans for Matt and family as in late 2021 he sold his share in the partnership and relocated to the Seattle area (Poulsbo, WA). Matt is currently completing his instrument rating, and tailwheel endorsement and is currently under contract on a 1977 A36 Bonanza.

Professional:
Matt fell into security after attending Colorado State University. Throughout his career, he has switched between private industry and consulting, with a bulk of time spent in identity and access management. Today, he leads DevSecOps within the product and engineering org at Alteryx, one of the most innovative companies in data science (according to Fast Company). His love of software, experience in cloud computing, and enthusiasm for security has driven his passion for product security.
