    Cont GO300 cylinders??

Yes not operating per POH was a problem as well but my conclusion/theory has been that another contributing factor is the installation of O-300 cylinders leading to premature failures. I'm no cylinder expert, just what I came up with several years ago. Keep us updated on your search...

    Cont GO300 cylinders??

They are different and cannot be converted. I believe the GO-300's reputation would be much better today if Continental would have made sure that the O-300 cylinders could NOT bolt on to a GO-300. I'll attempt to share the pics...

    Cessna 172 Heated Pitot Drawings

Hello, Wondering if anyone has the Cessna drawings for installing the optional heated pitot? I have found some reference to AK175-23D but have not been able to find the actual documents. Thank you!

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

A few references I have been reading over relating to this topic. AC 43-210A, FAA Order 8900.1 Vol. 4 Chp 9, and 43.13-2B Par202, Par1100

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

That's a good idea actually, hadn't thought about a document CD. If it was a log book sign off it wouldn't show up but if it was an STC or field approval then it would. I do struggle with this a bit. I have had avionics guys tell me that they do this (see pic) to Cherokees all the time...

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

Its back... the whole topic was removed yesterday for some reason. Here's another one. The same question still stands. If you have any input to the actual question it is greatly appreciated. How do I go about making this instrument panel restructuring legal, on paper that is? What I have...

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

Thank you for taking the time for this response!! You mention other alterations such as the basic design of electrical system. I've heard much debate over what is major and what is minor in this area too. Perhaps this is the same answer for the panel as well... that there isn't one. at least...

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

Lol, I appreciate all the comments but I think I need to rephrase my question... I'm just trying to learn from those that have done the type of work being done in the pic what process was used to make it legal. I don't believe that an A&P can simply sign this off because it is technically a...

    Cessna 172 panel gut job

Yes that's what I'm looking for. To do this to a panel where do I start? Do I have to go straight to a DER to get approved data? Will Cessna give the blessing on such work? For those that have done a major panel gut job like the one in the pic by what means are you getting it approved?

Cessna 172 Garmin Upgrade. GEA 24 EIS or JPI 900

Can I ask why you decided on the G500 over the G3X?

Cessna 172 Garmin Upgrade. GEA 24 EIS or JPI 900

I agree its not NEEDED, however if those old stewart warner gauges tell you something is wrong... its likely way too late :) In the grand scheme of things the engine monitor is far from the bulk of the cost and as much as this project is going to cost I want to do it right the first time. I...

Cessna 172 Garmin Upgrade. GEA 24 EIS or JPI 900

So have been racking my brain over a Garmin upgrade and there are so many possible configs. Its big $$$ so thought I'd reach out for some additional comments and recommendations beyond the bias of the Garmin dealer. So far looking at G3X, GTN650, GNC255, GTX345, GI275, GFC500. Not sure if I...
