Hi,
I'm part owner in a C-172N where we installed new avionics.
The radio is a Garmin GTR 225A and the transponder is a Garmin 335 with ADS-B out.
After a half an hours flight a warning will appear on the radio stating something along the lines of "low voltage or high temp - reducing output...
He's still loving it, so think he'll be hanging on to it for the foreseeable future. In December '24 we're planning to go on a new trip, hopefully it will be just as successful.
Yeah, it would have been fantastic. But insurance and permits were very specific to owner and ferry pilot and by the looks of it they needed all the backseat space for fuel and other stuff. I would have been a waste of payload and space I'm afraid.
Hi Tom,
Just wanted to thank you for the Linden tip and add a few pointers for others who may want to do the Hudson trip, but are terrified of doing so. First of all we both did the mandatory FAA course & exam in the morning and studied the reporting points.
In the evening we arrived at Monmouth...

But once...
Thanks for tip! Plan changed a little bit. We decided for Toronto instead of Montreal for point of entry. Will look up Catskills, after a week along the coast we just assume that everything will be flat
Thanks, once we did it was it seems easy, but that's like everything else in life. Niagara falls tomorrow and then the ferry legs to Norway are back on track! The geese have started their ferrying, so it's getting late.
Prepping for NYC SFRA now, done course.
We'll fly to Monmouth and fuel, take a dump and brief before doing the Hudson river.
Am I correct to assume that since we'll be looping we are to be considered local and not transient, hence 1000 feet and below?
Also no clearance required to enter I...
