I've got the same one. The extended magazine makes a world of difference. Though I practice with and without. I keep the extended mag when it's at the house, and use the shorter one for hiking.

Followup from another newbie. Looking at my New Orleans sections, I see similar information blocks, such as contact Pensacola Approach within 20NM on XXX.XX. Now is that within 20 NM of the class C bubbles, or 20NM of the airport itself?

Question from a noob with maybe the same issue down the road: what happens if an accident were to occur during those 5 hours? Is the insurance valid with a CFI, just not valid solo until that hurdle is passed with that endorsement?

Plus 1 on that. Also chair flying. I do this just about every other day or so while jogging or doing something that doesn't take complete concentration. Go through the maneuvers in your head, go through radio calls in the pattern, radio calls to request flight following, radio calls to FSS...

I'm no expert myself, but I can tell you that it does get easier... or at least more familiar. And looks like you're flying at a good pace, so you should be coming along nicely. Not familiar with RADE during the run-up. What does that one stand for?

I wouldn't have a clue which ones were the test questions. They all seemed pretty close the study bank that I had been using. And officially, I am not divulging any information obtained from my test sessions to any outside parties as per FAA regulations. But what what is their number...

I recently did both day dials and the night dual. I use the sectional, folded to an area reasonably larger than the route of my trip, even if it doesn't follow the factory creases, and use spring clips to hold it. Then I fold that in half to make it manageable, keeping my current position...

Just a quick one for you guys and gals. Just took (and passed) my private written. But everything I read and heard said to expect 60 questions. To my surprise, 60 came and went and the "submit" button didn't come until the 63rd. Luckily the two missed weren't #61, #62 or #63 so it didn't hurt...

It was the long XC. Not sure why we did the long before the short, but I suppose it doesn't matter as I have to do both anyway at some point.
