I bought a Dual 160 a year ago. It worked fine until September. We have been having constant problems with it since. In fact we have stopped using it altogether.
Its called sitting reserve. Its the very bottom. Be careful for what you wish for.
Sorry, actually sitting ready reserve at the airport is the worst of it. Sitting ready reserve for 8 hours then not flying at all. is just complete boredom.
It actually wouldn't. The 172 is a less stable platform. Develop the skill sets then transition. Its done all the time. Its the same as incorporating a sim in the training then using the airplane.
They are two different things for us. FMS nav is just flying waypoints (Blue needles). When it gets down to it they are all coded Lat/Long positions. if we want to fly it in raw data off the LOC (Green needle) that can be done too. however they are two entirely different platforms.
