I have a special issuance due to Papillary Thyroid Cancer and Hypothyroidism. I had my quarterly checkup today and my doctor wants to reduce my Synthroid dose from 250mcg/day to 224mcg/day. Per my SI operation of aircraft is prohibited after a medication change. Who do I report the change...

Checkride done and passed! Much easier (easier isn't the right word here but my brain is fried...) than I anticipated. Oral portion was just over an hour. As others have said it was really just a conversation about aviation. Once I got going I was very comfortable and the answers kept coming...

Did 1.2 hours with my instructor today. Covered soft field/short field, stalls, steep turns, ground reference. Checkride tomorrow!

I have an SI due to thyroid cancer. I don't have to see an AME every year. My Endocrinologist has to prepare a report of my current condition, my medications, and my prognosis. They mail it direct to OKC and normally in 3-4 weeks I get a new SI in the mail. No AME needed. Now I will be glad to...

I live in Poteau and train at FSM. If I hadn't been on vacation, I would have driven down there and checked it out! (And by the looks of my Facebook feed - half of town did check it out)

Growing up dad worked on various aircraft for Lockheed and Northrop - so lots of open houses over the years, but no pilots in the family. A friend of the family took me and my dad in a 172 when I was 10. I got to fly some between Oxnard and Santa Barbara - I was hooked. Fast forward and I'm 38...

Last flight was mock checkride. Busted on first maneuver - forgot clearing turn. Good news is I won't make that mistake again! Rest of flight was pretty uneventful. Felt good whole way through. Now just prepping for the oral - that has me more nervous than the flying.
