I'm active duty Coast Guard currently assigned to Station Chatham, MA. I started flying back in the 90s with a discovery flight coupon that came with my copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator. In 2001 while enlisted in the Navy I started taking lessons out of Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. After a couple years of working my way through, I ran out of time and money and put flying on hold for over 20 years. Once assigned with the Coast Guard on Cape Cod I made a promise to myself to finish up. I had my license in hand just a few short months later.
